  • 1981 Illinois State High School Singles Champion, as a freshman
  • 1982 Wimbledon Junior quarter-finalist
  • 1983 French Open Junior quarter-finalist
  • 1983 ranked number ten Junior in the world
  • 1984 turned professional at the U.S. Open and in the next two events was a finalist to Martina Navratilova and won Tampa, FL event beating Carling Bassett-Seguso in the Finals
  • 1984 named Tennis Magazine's Rookie of the Year
  • 1982-1989 played in 8 French Opens, 7 U. S Opens & 5 Wimbledon's
  • Ranked as high as #18 in the World in Singles
